Covered Porch/Screen Porch Addition

We initially met with the homeowners to finish a portion of their basement for a mother-in-law suite. After starting that project, the clients added this exterior renovation. Their existing deck was rotting, unsafe, and non-functional for their family. With a live-in nanny and a mother-in-law moving in, the goal was to create a functional outdoor space that served everyone.

• Screen System: We utilized a specialized screen system that allows for long spans, providing optimal, unobstructed views of the surrounding yard and children’s play area.

• Composite Decking: This was selected to provide a maintenance-free surface and ensure the family never has to worry about wood rot or structural failure again.

• Seamless Integration: We purposely designed the addition to match the existing architecture so that it appears as though it was part of the original home.

The project resulted in two distinct, functional levels. The lower level connects to the mother-in-law suite and includes a wide, accessible walkway to the driveway to accommodate any future mobility needs. The upper level extends from the kitchen and dining area, providing a versatile space for the family to eat, play, and enjoy fresh air.
